Happy Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving! We’ve all watched the parade, ate our turkey, watched the football game, and slept the rest of the day. Now what? Thanksgiving Day is over, but thanksgiving should not. We have millions of things to be thankful for, the biggest being our salvation. The concept that God loves us in spite of our sins is impossible for us mere humans to grasp; luckily God doesn’t expect us to repay Him, at least equally. All He asks is that we love and praise Him; basically, give thanks to Him for what He’s done. So live your life, giving thanks to the One who deserves it all.
Now I know it’s hard to give thanks to God all the time, so here are a few suggestions. Look at creation, it is in constant praise and worship to God, it lives and breathes in worship to God: the tree growing, the water running, the clouds rolling, the stars shining, and the deserts drying. Even the littlest activity, like a leaf falling or an ant carrying that leaf, somehow someway it brings praise to God; it gives thanks to God. That’s what we should do; just by simply breathing and living we should give thanks to God. Just recognize what you have, what you’ve been given, and give thanks.
Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth. Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations. Psalm 100
